mom...thanks for letting me be your sunshine!

{one of my favorites by katie daisy}
i have fond memories of being a little girl on my mother.s lap.
my head on her chest.  her arms wrapped tight around me.
rocking.  back and forth.  back and forth.

"you are my sunshine.
my only sunshine.
you make me happy...
when skies are grey.
you.ll never know dear...
how much i love you.
please don.t take
my sunshine
away"

and without fail, my eyelids would gently close
and i would quickly be dreaming
of being that big bright sunshine in my mother.s sky.

what fond memories do you have that feed your worth?

cultivate the worth of another!

  1. I loved to sing, "I'll fly away" to my babies, and then one day I heard my daughter rocking her baby to sleep with that song and I looked surprised and she said, "i don't even know why I know that song but it comes to mind when I'm rocking". isn't that cool???

  2. I have a special song for all my kiddos. My 11 year old girl knows for sure that any song with sunshine in it is hers. Stevie Wonder, You Are The Sunshine Of My Life.....that is our special song and she loves it when were driving and it's on the radio. I sing it just for her.

I love this post...it's so comforting when your momma has something that she only shares with you, isn't it?

    Have a blessed day:)

  12. Hmmm, can't think of any memories. As a grown up I feel so much love and worth from my bloggy sisters.
I'm always singing silly songs to my own kids. Do you remember milli vanilli? I would sing my own variation of 'Girl you know it's true' to my daughter. She loves it. :)
So happy to hear that your boy is doing so well!
Thanks for sharing your sunshine beatiful Chrissy! Love you♥
    Your friend,
