i have been sitting in wonder at all the profound comments left on my last post
about being under the influence of the "compare" gremlins.
i have so many emotions welling up deep inside me,
and try as i may to bring them to the surface in words of gratitude,
i am left speechless.
i hope you will forgive me as i am going to leave town with my family
for a few weeks...before i have even begun to thank all of you for the kindest of words. the gentlest nudgings of encouragement. the biggest of hugs. the tightest holding of hands. the lifting. the singing. the cartwheeling. the boat hopping. the lighthouse flashings. the rah rah-ings. the feast making. the waving of magic wands. the kicking of the "c" word to the curb. the tossing of picnics onto my dingy boat. the peeling off of my masking tape and turning it into a giant ball. and for pulling in and out of port with me.
i was especially touched by a reminder that "i do have talents that have inherently been given to me." i believe they are from above and by not acknowledging those talents...i am being most ungrateful. yuck! so when i return, i will be setting again at sea but this time i will be taking my talents with me. owning them. keeping them close. getting reacquainted with one another and striving to be content with wherever my little boat
and my talents might chance to sail.
cul*ti*vate your talents...even if you have to dig deep for them
sail forth, dear girl, and enjoy the journey!

Bravo to you! Safe travels to you and your family

I think creative people have a harder time, finding their niche. Enjoy your family get-a-way, your life boat! When you return, before returning to the sea. It's all aboutyou can focus on your sailing, testing the waters and see what treasures, you chose to share.
ReplyDeleteThe greatest sea is your soul, it takes years to master this one. Storms of change are to be expected; you aren't the only one sailing out there. There are plenty of islands we can stop at to rest, reflect and restore ourselves. It is all about the journey...
Congrats on being a link on Crescendoh, today!
A huge celebration to be recognized and such a heART felt post! You really put yourself out there... Enjoy!!! xXx
I rearranged a sentence, didn't catch it:
ReplyDeleteWhen you return, before returning to the sea, think about what treasures you want to share. Then you can focus on your sailing, It's all about testing the waters and your view of the beauty you behold! I really botched that up....oops!

ReplyDeleteBon Voyage, dear one! You exude creativity with your love, your talents, your words, your Life.
ReplyDeleteSee ya' when you return :)
i think it's awesome that you put all of that out there in the last post - thank you! it's so disarming, and a good reminder that our art blogs are places for us to play, live, cultivate our own style - but that is easy to forget when we visit the many inspiring blogs and styles of artwork out there. comparison (that dirty dog) loves to sneak in when we least expect it and muddle up our self confidence! i say, love what you've got, chrissy, because what you have is fabulous! happy vacation! xo
ReplyDeleteWow, what an incredible blog here! So very inspiring!!

YES! YES! YES!! You go, girl!! I'll be sailing right along with you (or rowing as it may be...). Love, Silke
ReplyDeleteso loving you and so excited to see more of your artistic abilities. it's hard to put yourself out there, but once you do you will float for days! i don't think me feet touched the ground after making a video of my painting process...and i'm still "high" from it and did another one! even have a youtube channel now...so if i can do it, the shy girl who wouldn't leave the house if she didn't have to, well, you can to!
ReplyDeleteenjoy your time with your family. i'm leaving soon to. to love and cherish some girl time with my mom and sister...and slowing down and "sketching". i need to slow down...life is getting out of control..in a good way, but oh so out of control!
loves and hugs and happy thoughts coming your way my friend!
oh I just read this post and I am so excited to see what unfolds! I totally love what Gloria was saying as well - in due time. Enjoy the mountains! I just came back from a wonderful camping trip...nothing like getting out of the city to clear your mind.
ReplyDeleteYES YES YES! All my mind/heart screams to me for you is YES!
ReplyDeleteHappy dance for you. . . looking forward to see what you cultivate!
I second what Dana said, "you have a way with words!"
MmmHmm!
With Love,
Carissa
