ReplyDeletei love to listen to the Grinch at Christmas time - so much fun to HEAR the word-play...and if you've not seen Reverend Jesse Jackson read "Green Eggs & Ham" on SNL, i'm sure you can find it on YouTube - HILARIOUS!!
When my kids were younger I could read the stories to them by heart because as soon as we finished they'd want to start all overy again. This brings back sweet memories.♥ Happy Birtday Dr. Suess and a happy Tuesday to you Chrissy!
ReplyDeleteLove,
Jenny
I love dr. seuss he is one of my favorites. I actually read his books out loud to myself in bed. They are filled with so many incredible life lessons. Thanks for reminding me it is his birthday! Have you ever seen "In Search of Dr. Seuss?" I only have it on VHS (and don't even own a VHS player) nut it is really neat. You learn a lot about his life. I also loved Sueussical, The Musical. I saw it on broadway and listen to the soundtrack all of the time. Dr. Seuss is such an inspiration.
ReplyDeleteI wanted to share with you one of the quotes that always makes me stop and thinkg:
ReplyDelete"How did it get so late so soon? It's night before it's afternoon. December is here before it's June. My goodness how the time has flewn. How did it get so late so soon?"
I has to be Green Eggs and Ham...our girls giggle SO much at the green eggs part...
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Dr. Suess.
AND...thanks for passing by our Blog...lovely to meet you!
CHar
Yep, these books are classic! Imagination meets good old-fashioned "you can do it" thinking. A definite icon of its time.
ReplyDeleteOh Chrissy, just had to tell they celebrated Dr. Seuss at my sons school yesterday and even had green eggs and ham, the kids loved it! Hope you're having a great day!
ReplyDeleteHi Chrissy, Lisa here. Thanks for stopping by and commenting, in the midst of preparing for your artful journey. Your pictures show how wonderful the experience was...so amazing to see all the talent, creativity and friendships.
ReplyDeleteDr. Seuss is wonderful. I like "Oh the Places You'll Go" and was given a copy by a dear teacher upon graduating high school.
I would like to e-mail you about something...Or you can e-mail me at doughnutdreams@yahoo.com.
Love it!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is "Oh, the Places You'll Go" and I also love the baby version of that for gifts: "Oh Baby, the Places You'll Go" - a book to be read in utero

ReplyDeleteJust saw you comment on my blog...
my dream is to live in phoenix! if my hubby could find work out there we would move in a second. we visit there whenever we can and last time looked around at houses and different areas. if by chance he ever gets a job there you will be my go to person on where to live!
you will love prescott. the little town square with Newman Gallery is very quaint. we stumbled upon it and the minute i walked in this gallery i was in love! it was so me. i asked if they would be interested in my jewelry and to my pleasure they said yes. they have great jewelry in there and a lot of other things and are supper nice to boot:)
Some of my favorite Dr. Seuss lines are from are few words he is reported to have said at a party one night, "If my daddy hadn't met up with my mommy, Id' have missed this fine party tonight. If my daddy had shacked up with somebody else, just supposing for instance Miss Abigail Schmelz, or Patricia McFish or Louella McGee, I wouldn't have resulted, I wouldn't be me..."
